Raw Video News:

The Stokes Fire was reported at the intersection of Malibu Canyon Rd. Las Virgenes Rd and Mulholland Highway.

The center of this brush fire grew in the mountains of near the 26700 block of Stokes Rd. at the intersection of Mulholland Highway and up into the mountains of Santa Monica Reserve.
Another part of this blaze took off, trailing up embankments, endangering the nearby multi-million dollar Calabasas homes which had the firefighters hustling to get a handle upon it to control it’s dry brush path.
The L.A. Co. Fire Dept utilized their choppers to drop water from the skies onto this large hillside which was fully engulfed in flames.

No one was reportedly injured except one firefighter who was transported to the hospital for heat related injuries, Fire officials said.

Photo above: Firefighters suit up to hike the fire trails and battle the blaze from behind it, digging a fire line to backfire the blaze into itself. This is a way to get the fire to burn itself out, by helping to set backfires, it makes it harder for the fire to have enough resources to continue to burn, when the wind is just right. Digging a fire line, clearing brush and hosing down the hot flames from the trailhead , these firefighters are from Los Angeles County and Ventura County Fire Departments here seen on Stokes Road.
